Ο διαγωνισμός διοργανώνεται σε συνεργασία με την Παγκόσμια Τουριστική Έκθεση του Λονδίνου και για το 2023 υπάρχουν 20 κατηγορίες. Τα Wanderlust Reader Travel Awards θα αναδείξουν τις πιο επιθυμητές πόλεις, περιοχές, χώρες (Ευρώπη & ROW) και αναδυόμενους προορισμούς, όπως επιλέχθηκαν από τους αναγνώστες του Wanderlust, καθώς και τους κορυφαίους προορισμούς για περιπέτεια, πολιτισμό και πολιτιστική κληρονομιά, φύση και άγρια ζωή, γαστρονομία και βιώσιμα ταξίδια. Υπάρχουν επίσης ειδικές κατηγορίες αφιερωμένες στις κορυφαίες αεροπορικές εταιρείες και τους καλύτερους Tour Operators σε πέντε τομείς, γενική περιήγηση, εξειδικευμένη περιήγηση, πολιτισμός & κληρονομιά, περιπέτεια και φύση & άγρια ζωή.
