Kefalonia: Intensive Controls by the Police for Vehicle Violations

Intensive Controls have recently been launched by the Police in Kefalonia. Car blockades in Argostoli and other parts on the island have been intensified, especially in the harsh hours, in an effort to locate all kinds of offenders.

Common infringements of the Highway Code and also others, such as a non-timely visit to a Τechnical Vehicle Control Center[KTEO in Greece], or renewal of the exhaust control card are the most frequent reasons for imposing fines.
Special attention should be given to owners of new vehicles which have never undergone a TVCC[KTEO] and may have omitted this obligation.
Police officers are strict in enforcing the law and offenders will be charged with  a  high fine, which will be minimized if they pass a TVCC[KTEO] and provide the required documents.
So, before you get into your car  and start driving, make sure you are absolutely law-abiding to avoid unnecessary expenses.
